ABOUT US

My name is Cecilia Brunhoff Håkansson and I have lived with Norwich Terriers since 1979, when my parents bought the family's first dog. I got my first Norwich Terrier in 1984 and she had a litter with one puppy in 1986. I was only 14 years old at that time and I had to get a permit from the Swedish Kennel Club in order to register myself as the breeder.

My early interest in animals, dogs in particular, was the reason I decided to study Biology in high school. I practised as a kennel maid at Renée Sporre-Willes' Cobby's kennels for about eigth months before starting at University. I have a M.Sc. in Biology and a Ph.D. in genetics from Lund University in Sweden.

My husband Par-Olof isn't a formal co-owner of kennel Gryphon's, but is very much a practical part of it. We live in the small village of Västra Ingelstad in southern-most Sweden together with our two children and three Norwich Terriers.

OUR "C-LINE"

Swedish Champion Eyebright's Celest (right) was born in 1992 and is the mother, grand mother or great grandmother of the Norwich Terriers that we have today. Celest was bred by my parents and she was an excellent brood bitch, just like her mother Sw Ch Cobby's Canterbury Bell. Since all our puppies are descendants of Celest, they are given names starting with a C.

Celest's daughter Gryphon's Cleio (right) was born in 1999. She has five sons and two daughters, five of them are show champions. Cleio was Norwich Terrier Brood Bitch of the Year in Sweden in both 2006 and 2007.

Cleio's daughter International, Swedish and Danish Ch Gryphon's Clair de Lune (right) was born in March 2005. She got her first litter in 2007 by GB & Sw Ch Ragus Up'n'adam. Their daughter AM/US Ch Gryphon's Chelsea Gem got her American Champion title in 2011. Flisan got her second litter in March 2012 by C.I.B SE & DK Ch Cobby's High Stakes. One of their daughters will hopefully continue our C-line.
